This time last year the Venice Architecture Biennale was underway, where Rem Koolhaas was awarded the Golden Lion as OMA unveiled their design for the renovation of the Fondaco dei Tedeschi in Venice. Our favourite pavilions included a forest of acrylic fronds that moved as though breathing in the Canadian pavilion, a cloud suspended inside the Arsenale exhibition space and a blue foam model city in the Dutch pavilion. Meanwhile we previewed the new identity for Dezeen Watch Store, which launched the following month.
