This week a group of urban climbers revealed that they’d secretly scaled the 309-metre-high exterior of Renzo Piano’s London skyscraper the Shard and J. Five years ago Foster + Partners unveiled ambitious proposals for a “zero carbon, zero waste” development in Abu Dhabi to be planned like an ancient walled city and OMA designed a Death Star-like convention centre, also for the United Arab Emirates.
