Milan 2012: today is the final edition of our daily TV show from Dezeen Studio at MOST in which we round up some of the other things that have been happening during the week. Tom Dixon demos the Digital Forming software he’s got on show that allows customers to customise their own bespoke Tom Dixon lamp or speaker and then purchase it online with the click of a button, Piers Roberts introduces the Designersblock exhibition in the cloisters of the museum and Achille Sassoli takes us on a tour of Carpigiani’s Gelato University. Five years ago this week Olafur Eliasson and Snøhetta unveiled their proposals for the 2007 Serpentine Gallery Pavilion and Herzog & de Meuron announced plans to create a new football stadium for English team Portsmouth FC that were abandoned shortly after. OMA started work on a study into urban growth in the Gulf, the results of which were presented recently as part of an exhibition documenting the firm’s working processes and lighting designer Stuart Haygarth designed a children’s nightlight filled with toys for a charity auction. Elsewhere on Dezeen we published even more high-profile projects that we’d seen in Milan, which included door handles designed by Zaha …

Milan 2012: today’s edition of our daily TV show from Dezeen Studio at MOST is all about performance. First up Faye Toogood tells us how she’s curing visitors with clay in a soothing pavilion called La Cura, then Sheridan Coakley of London design brand SCP shows us round their stand where one chair is upholstered using traditional methods each day. Our guest journalist is Joseph Grima, editor-in-chief of Domus magazine, who stopped by to tell us about the more reflective mood he senses in Milan this year and the themes of collaboration, open design, crowd-sourcing and hacking that are emerging in exhibits around the city. Finally, there’s some good news about the weathe…

This week last year two architectures students unveiled plans for a company that enables illegal migration and our most popular and controversial story was about a giant, latticed canopy by J. Mayer H. that was described as clumsy, grotesque and overbearingly monumental, as well as sublime and gutsy. Our readers also had a lot to say about an anvil-shaped museum with a windowless tiled facade, which many thought bore an uncanny resemblance to Selfridges in Birmingham. Over in Tokyo, architect Emmanuelle Moureaux completed another project with her trademark rainbow of colours, this time a bank, while back in the Dezeen office we were busy deciding which colour gradients …
