About Me
Based in Bahrain Martin is a Czech registered architect with over ten years of experience in the interior, architectural and urban design as well as with extensive construction site supervision experience. Martin has proven his talent within multi-national professional design teams in Europe and China and has exercised his technical, planning and organizational skills within the construction sites of the Middle East.
In Europe Martin worked in multi-national design teams as an architect and as a project architect on various architectural tasks, whilst being a team member as well as a team leader. Such tasks included formulating ideas, materializing them through presentations to clients and authorities and implementing those ideas on the construction site. Martin has designed villas, hotels, office buildings as well as urban master plans. Among other projects he was the project architect of the Baroque Palace conversion to Kempinski hotel in Prague completed in 2006.
In 2003 Martin accepted the invitation to join a design team in China. While working simultaneously on several fast-track projects he was able to develop the design and land permit documentation of the 50 storey Buckingham residential tower in Taipa island, which is currently under construction and to participate as a project architect of the 10th Anniversary McDonald’s restaurant in Macau, which was successfully completed and published in architectural magazines.
Relocating to the Middle East in 2006 and joining the General Contractor’s side of the business enabled Martin to build his full time site-based site supervision experience. In 2006 he was assigned as a site-in-charge to supervise the construction of a 9 storey residential building in Amwaj Islands, Bahrain. From 2007, throughout the complete project life cycle, Martin has served as a Technical Officer for the construction of 337 luxury villas in the iconic Durrat al Bahrain Resort project. He was responsible for providing the complete technical support to the site, facing the challenges of the extensive horizontal project planning as well as the technical and quality aspects of delivering luxury villas in the Middle Eastern climate.
Since 2010 Martin is assisting Wood’s Bagot site office team with supervision of 5-star 460-keys Kempinski Hotel Ft-out project in Bahrain, scheduled to be completed in early 2011. From a position of a site architect Martin is reporting directly to the Project Director.
